Milwaukee M12 Fuel Orbital Detail Sander

Give Your Hands A Break From Detail Sanding With Milwaukee’s M12 Fuel Orbital Detail Sander

Getting into those hard-to-reach nooks and crannies of your workpiece seems like a task that requires manual sanding. However, sanding by hand can lead to inconsistencies in the finished result due to factors like speed, pressure, and fatigue. Milwaukee is changing the detail sanding scene with the introduction of its M12 Fuel orbital detail sander. Find out how this tool could be your answer to detail sanding perfection.

Milwaukee M12 Fuel Orbital Detail Sander: The Big Deal

Milwaukee M12 Fuel Orbital Detail Sander 2531

Since detail sanding is usually done by hand, the Milwaukee 2531 aims to replace inefficient and inconsistent hand-sanding tasks. The sander’s brushless motor can remove material up to twice as fast as traditional hand sanding to leave a stain-grade finish.

It uses a 1.5mm orbital diameter sanding motion to avoid scratches and gouges while maintaining a fast removal rate. Additionally, it was designed to be compact enough to allow you to access tight corners and follow the terrain of your workpiece.

The tool includes four speed modes, with settings from 4,000 RPM to 14,000 RPM, and has a lock-on button. The tool features a variable speed trigger, allowing you to feather areas that require more control. That’s an unusual feature for a sander.

To keep vibration under control, there’s a counterweight system. With the crazy-low vibration of the M12 Fuel oscillating multi-tool, we have high expectations for how this sander deals with it.

Another notable aspect of the Milwaukee 2531 is the optional sponge pad, which allows the abrasive to contour to the work surface when you’re working with complex trim profiles.

Additional Features

  • LED light
  • Compact size for toolbelt storage
  • Pad saver protects against heat buildup to extend backing pad life

Milwaukee PowerGrid Mesh Sanding Sheets

Alongside the M12 Fuel orbital detail sander, Milwaukee is also releasing PowerGrid tear-resistant mesh sandpaper sheets that are exclusively compatible with the M12 Fuel detail sander. Sharp grains on the sheets allow for faster material removal and an open-weave design allows you to clean them to prevent material buildup. Better yet, they’re designed to last up to 12 times longer than standard sandpaper. The sandpaper sheets will be available in selections from 80 grit to 400 grit.
